Haiti Delegation Exchanges Ideas with Belize on Protecting Marine Resources

Belize is hosting a delegation from Haiti to exchange ideas on processes, ideas and legislation to protect marine resources. Acting Fisheries Administrator, Mauro Gongora speaks about what the Haitian participants will be learning from the Fisheries Department in Belize.

The exchange is facilitated through the Inter-American Bank whose mandate is to encourage knowledge and technology transfer. IDB Country representative in Belize, Cassandra Rogers spoke of what both countries will take away from the workshop.

Vice-Coordinator of Fisheries and Aquaculture Directorate in Haiti, Laurent Merisier spoke about the similar state of marine resources in Haiti and Belize.

The first five days of the workshop will be held at the Inter-development Bank Office in Belize City.
