“Police responded where they found a scene with what appeared to be blood stains on the ground in a yard. Police then proceeded to the San Pedro Polyclinic where they saw one Dwayne Hyde suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower abdomen. At the time he related to police that he was at his residence along with his common law wife when two male persons approached his yard one of which approached him with a firearm. Upon seeing the firearm he pulled a screwdriver and made attempts to defend himself. In that process he injured the male person in the neck, on the mouth and in the abdomen. Whilst in the struggle shots rang out where Mr.Hyde received the said injuries to the abdomen. He was then escorted by a person to the polyclinic and then after being stabilized transported to Belize City where he is at the KHMH at this present time.”

ASP Jemmott says they were able to make an arrest due to the description that Hyde gave of his attacker.
