The Christians Workers Union and the Belize City Council signed a Collective Bargaining Agreement today. Present at the signing was the president of the CWU Audrey Matura- Shephard who spoke about the agreement and the negotiation journey towards signing it.

Matura-Shephard stated that the union had to compromise some of the expectations that they initially started the negotiation with. She also spoke about the time that transpired from the first negotiation attempt to sign a collective agreement in 1993.

Mayor Darrell Bradley spoke about the Collective Bargaining Agreement stating that it helped to solidify the relationship between the Council and the Union and it will foster a spirit of public service at the council.
