Orange Walk Resident Awarded Obama’s YLAI Program

Orange Walk resident, Hernan Urbina will be traveling to the US in a few weeks to be a part of the 2016 Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI).  The US Embassy in Belmopan had announced in May of this year that they were accepting applications from persons between the ages of 21 and 35 for the program.  The program is sponsored by the US Department of State and they were seeking two hundred and fifty young entrepreneurs from Latin America and the Caribbean to go to the US for business and social entrepreneurship training in October and November 2016. Urbina was selected from among four thousand applications from thirty sex countries.  The program is hosted by the US President, Barack Obama.
