Mexican Trio Come to Discuss Human Rights Matters

The Ombudsman of Belize, Lionel Arzu, welcomed three officers of Mexico’s National Human Rights Commission to Belize on Tuesday. They are Claudia Cristina Ibarra Reynoso, who is the Director of International Cooperation, Dr Helen Peña Martinez, who is the Director of Non-governmental organizations, and Jose Leopoldo Vega Correa, the Director of Information Technology.  The trio was on a three day visit to Belize and they met with members of the  National Garifuna Council, the National Kriol Council of Belize, the Central Information Technology Office, and Belize’s National Human Rights Commission. The main topics discussed were Afro-descendants in Mexico and Belize, information technology and other human rights issues.
