Last week, after pressure from several sectors of society, the Government of Belize officially endorsed the idea of having an appointed Senate Select Committee to investigate the findings of the Auditor General Special Report. Government had previously supported a bi-cameral body to do the investigation. Today Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Elodio Aragon Jr., told the media that he has no problem with an appointed Senate Select Committee.

While it has agreed that a Senate Select Committee be the investigating body, the composition of such a body remains a debate.
