GSU Removes Illegal Firearm from Sittee Street

The Gang Suppression Unit led by intelligence gathered was successful at ridding the street of yet another unlicensed firearm.  In a search conducted yesterday at around five o’clock on Sittee Street in Belize City.  As a result of that search, 24-year-old, Steven Bradley and 21-year-old, Kadeem Bradley were both arrested when an illegal firearm with ammunition were found concealed in a shoe box in one of the rooms of the house where the men were.  The men appeared in court today before Magistrate Carlon Mendoza where Steven Bradley pleaded guilty to the firearm and ammunition after telling the magistrate that he was holding the weapon for someone.  Subsequent to Steven Bradley’s plea, charges were withdrawn from Kadeem Bradley.  Steven Bradley was sentenced to five years imprisonment with eligibility for parole in March 2019.  In speaking with Love News, GSU Commander Glenn Caliz says they are improving the way they carry out their operations with one of their main focuses being on intelligence gathering followed by execution of duties.
