Rhaburn Case of Firearm and Drugs Concludes 3 Years Later

After facing arraignment on August 19, 2013, the case of 39-year-old, Carolee Jean Rhaburn concluded today in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.  Rhaburn was approached and searched by members of the Gang Suppression Unit on Friday, August 16, 2013 on George Street in Belize City.  Rhaburn was reportedly carrying a purse in which officers found seventy two grams of marijuana and a shoebox where a point thirty eight revolver was found along with three live rounds of ammunition.  Rhaburn was initially remanded but had received bail and was released.  Today she was fined two thousand five hundred dollars for keeping a firearm without a gun license as well as an additional two thousand five hundred dollars for kept ammunition.  For the marijuana found in her purse, Rhaburn was fined ten thousand dollars.  The fines are to be paid by October 30, 2017.
