$100K to Combat Gender Based Violence

The Belize Family Life Association, BFLA, was the first organization to receive funding from the US Embassy to combat gender based violence. According to BFLA’s Executive Director, Joan Burke, the project will positively impact ten thousand young persons in the Belize, Stann Creek and Orange Walk Districts. Participants will go through a serious of training and capacity building that will empower them on how to deal with gender based violence. This project has the support of US Ambassador to Belize, Carlos Moreno.


BFLA received one hundred thousand US dollars in grant funding.
