NEMO Prepares to Hand Over New Homes to Hurricane Victims

Updated: October 4, 2016

Two months after Hurricane Earl made landfall in Belize, the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) is continuing its rebuilding efforts. Minister in charge of NEMO, Edmond Castro met with the organization to assess the progress of recovery. Rebuilding efforts included construction of homes and provision of materials such as lumber and zinc needed for repairs and reconstruction. Minister Castro stated that he was pleased with the timely assistance provided to the victims affected. The Belize Defence Force assisted in transporting materials to residents affected and a number of volunteers also made the timely assistance possible. NEMO will be handing over new houses to a number of hurricane victims in the coming weeks.
