Two officers from the Orange Walk Police Department have been charged with extortion. The Officers are accused of extorting women who worked in brothels. The Officers allegedly had knowledge of people who were engaged with Human Trafficking but instead of helping the victims, made profit out of it. Today Minister of Police, Godwin Hulse commented on the situation with the Orange Walk Department Officers saying it is a sad day for the department.

Minister Hulse stated that one of his priorities as Minister of Police is the drastic reduction of crime and reversing the idea that crime pays.
