The ongoing strike by the Belize National teachers Union will extend into next week. Prime Minister Dean Barrow was unable to satisfy the Belize National Teachers Union yesterday and so today the teachers remained out of the classrooms for the ninth day. A massive demonstration was expected to take place in Belmopan on Monday where the Joint Negotiating Team would have met with the Prime Minister to discuss their three percent salary adjustment; however those plans have been delayed as the Prime Minister has informed the Union that he will not be able to meet with them on Monday.  BNTU’s President Luke Palacio, flanked by his executive updated the media this evening.
