Low Lying Bridge Fully Restored in Western Belize

Updated: October 20, 2016

The wooden bridge in San Ignacio has been replaced. The low lying wooden bridge that crosses the Macal River in Santa Elena and San Ignacio has been fully reconstructed. The reconstruction was done by a local contractor with supervision from engineers in the Ministry of Works. The bridge was officially opened this morning and now motorists are free to use it, alleviating the traffic congestion in the twin towns. Hurricane Earl had damaged the bridge back in August.
