Police in San Ignacio are investigating a chopping incident that occurred at around six o’clock last night on Bishop Martin Street in Santa Elena Town, Cayo District.  Reports indicate that upon making checks at the San Ignacio Community Hospital, investigators found two men being treated for injuries.  Further investigations indicate that the men, 46-year-old, Felipe Guzman and 36-year-old, Henry Baptist were the two persons involved in the chopping incident as Guzman bore injuries to the back of his head whilst Baptist was seen with cut wounds to the left shoulder, right cheek and nose.  Guzman was reportedly walking home after leaving a store when he passed Baptist who uttered some words to him.  Guzman responded and that was the start of the physical altercation where Baptist allegedly inflicted a cut wound to Guzman.  Guzman received medical treatment at the San Ignacio Community Hospital while Baptist was transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City.
