Team work involving the Belmopan Police officers, members of the K9 Unit and the Mobile Interdiction Team has led to the arrest of five individuals following the discovery of fifty four grams of marijuana.  A special anti-drug operation was held yesterday morning just before six o’clock and as a part of the operations a residence in Camalote Village, Cayo District was searched.  According to the police report, the officers had a search warrant for controlled drugs and firearms and in the presence of the home owner, Rose Hoare and with the assistance of the K9 dogs the search was executed.  Along the fence where a pig pen was situated, the officers found the controlled drug in a black plastic bag tucked inside a coconut shell.  As a result, Hoare and the other occupants of the house were taken into the Belmopan Police Station where they were charged with possession of controlled drugs.  During that same operation, the home of Dennis Banner in Camalote Village was also searched where they found ninety two grams of marijuana for which he was subsequently arrested and charged for drug trafficking.
