Rivers Says Politician Has a Hit on Him

Updated: October 27, 2016

Yesterday Assistant Commissioner of Police Chester Williams told the media that he had requested to speak with activist, Raymond Rivers from the Poor People Organized for a Healthy and Righteous Society (PPOHRS) Organization in regards to Facebook posts that Rivers made that according to Williams, could be constituted as threats. Today Rivers accompanied by Citizens Organized for Liberty and Action President, Geovanni Brackett and Jose Luis Espat attended a meeting with ACP Williams. Rivers spoke with us after the meeting.

Rivers stated that he believes that the reason the police is monitoring his Facebook posts is his activism for poor people from the southside, Belize City but also because of a dispute he has with a politician who has a hit on him. Rivers claims that last week the Gang Suppression Unit went into the home of one of his children’s mother to search for him.
