For some time now there have been talks of the officers of the Belize Police Department not being well compensated or looked after when it comes to benefits like insurance and the likes.  It is a complaint that has not gone on deaf ears as the recently appointed Minister for Home Affairs, Elodio Aragon Jr. told Love News that one of his agenda items is to explore how the salaries, benefits and incentives can be enhanced.

Another point of contention that has surfaced time and time again is the matter of promotions.  There have been allegations of favouritism being shown when it comes to promotions.  We asked Minister Aragon to speak on he plans to address this.

Minister Aragon took over the police portfolio on October 19, 2016.
