Hispanic Man Caught in Hit and Run on the Hummingbird Highway

The body of a man of Hispanic descent was found on the Hummingbird Highway over the weekend.  Fem Cruz has the story.

“Belmopan Police continue to investigate a fatal hit and run traffic accident that occurred on the Hummingbird Highway. Based on information received Belmopan Police visited Armenia Village at the entrance of a bridge and saw the lifeless body of a Hispanic male person lying face up in a pool of blood on the middle of the highway. The body was seen with an almost amputated right foot and a broken right leg. Corporal Vladimir Ramiro explained more.”

“On November 5th at about 10:38pm acting upon information received of a road traffic accident at the entrance of Armenia Village. Upon arrival police saw the lifeless body of a Hispanic male person lying face up in a pool of blood in the middle of the highway with multiple injuries to his body. The body was identified by his brother as Selvin Derass a Belizean Laborer of Las Flores Belmopan. The body was later transported to the Western Regional Morgue where the body awaits a post mortem. We are urging the general public that if they can assist us in solving this latest hit and run accident you can contact the second officer in command Santiago Pop at the Belmopan police station at 8022222 or 6525872.”
