“After 63 year old Victoria Castillo, a Salvadoran National was reported missing on Wednesday November 9 friends and family executed a search of her immediate surroundings where she lived on the Melinda Road which is just about a five minute walk from the Waguerale area of Dangriga. Her husband 67 year old Felipe Martinez, also a Salvadoran, travelled to Guatemala on Saturday November 5 and when he returned a few days after he noticed that his wife was not there. He said that he thought his wife was at a crusade in the nearby surroundings and did not think much of it. After a search party combed the area for a couple of days a shallow grave was found at about 11am and her family and friends feared that the remains of a human body found in the grave were hers and believed that she was murdered.”

“The pastor who recommended the guys and asked them to give them some space here said that he says the two nephews by the coastal road with their luggage. Nobody thought much of it, these two nephews were the last two that anybody saw here with her and then I went back to the police station to ask and I said that I was coming to check on the case. The officer in charge told me that they came to the conclusion that she left the country. I went there and told them that she did not leave the country because her daughter was coming; I told them that she did not leave the country. I told them that her bicycle was missing, money was missing, I told her that her bible and passport were missing but I told them that those could be just a diversion and I told them that I arranged a search party with the church people and they came and raided the area.”

“Her sister, apparently she was walking and she put her foot on something and her foot sank. She looked it and called somebody and one of the guys that were there put a machete out there and when he reached something hard the foul smell came out.”

“Love News spoke with the officer in charge of this southern region Sr. Superintendent Ralph Moody who gave us an update.”

RALPH MOODY

“Police exhumed the body where they observed that the body was wrapped in plastic and we then brought the operation to a halt due to the fact that we needed the forensic unit at the scene. We made the arrangement to have the scenes of crime people to come in and on Sunday as well the body was exhumed from the grave and the post mortem was conducted. Missing from the resident was $3,000 US dollars and a passport. We are looking for two suspects that we believe may have already fled the country en route to El Salvador.”
