Opposition Leader Blames Government and Community for Tyler’s Death

jayear-floresAn 18-year-old Belizean laborer has been charged for the murders of 7-year-old, Tyler Savery and 21-year-old, Porshan Pipersburgh.  The accused murderer, Jayear Flores of a Currasow Street address in Belize City is now facing two counts of murder following the death of Savery on Friday evening and Piperburgh’s passing on Saturday evening.  The two cousins were shot just after four o’clock on Daly Street in Belize on their way to Moonclusters coffee shop.  Jayear Flores appears multiple times in our news archives as he has been previously charged for the crimes of burglary, aggravated assault and robbery.  As recent as January 2016, Flores was charged in connection with an armed robbery at a business establishment on Vernon Street in Belize City.   Today he appeared in the Belize City Magistrates’ Court where he was arraigned and subsequently remanded to the Belize Central Prison.  Leader of the People’s United Party, John Briceno, spoke on the sad situation.
