Figueroa for Deputy House Speaker

In light of the promotion of Minister Edmund Castro to a substantive minister, the post of Deputy Speaker of the House had become vacant.  Today, during the Sitting of the House of Representatives the elected official for Cayo North, Omar Figueroa was nominated by the Deputy Prime Minister, Patrick Faber and seconded by Minister Frank Mena.  Figueroa gave a brief statement following the confirmation of his post.

 Figueroa entered the House of Representatives in January 2015 following the resignation of PUP’s Area Representative Joseph Mahmud.
