Yesterday, the National Committee for Families and Children (NCFC) joined the nation in mourning the tragic death of baby Janeeka. Chair of the NCFC, Pearl Stuart, told Love News that the committee is seriously concerned about the levels of violence that children in Belize are experiencing. The NCFC is calling on the public to collectively speak out as violence against children should never be tolerated.

The recent results of the Belize Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey 2015 indicate that children below the age of five experience the most severe forms of violence against them.  With this in mind, the NCFC has commenced putting together a parenting manual.

Stuart encourages parents to consider positive discipline methods.
