Defence Minister Awards Five from the Belize Coast Guard

Several members of the Belize Coast Guard were awarded yesterday during a Christmas luncheon held at their headquarters on the George Price Highway in Belize City.  Joining the men and women for lunch was Defence Minister, John Saldivar who noted in his address, quote, “I especially want to congratulate each and every member of the Belize Coast Guard for the work that you’ve done over this year, and the work that you continue to do; and for the commitment that you have to our country and to preserving our sovereignty and our territorial integrity. This year has been a great year for the Security Forces of Belize.”  Minister Saldivar also acknowledged the Belize Defence Force and their hard work.  The awardees are: Patrol Commander George Cardinez, Seaman Geovaughan Cocom, Engineer Trevor Vasquez, Seaman Moore, and Seaman Apprentice Ryan Gabourel who received the Commandant Award.  Also present at the luncheon was Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Defence, Felix Enriquez.
