Elderly Woman Slain over Land Dispute

An elderly woman is dead after being shot multiple times in the Cayo District over the weekend.  Reports reaching Love News are that on Sunday night at about seven thirty, Police were called to La Loma Luz Hospital where they saw the lifeless body of 61-year-old, Paulina Urbelina Suarez of an Orange Street address in Santa Elena Town.  Superintendent Richard Rosado, San Ignacio Police Commander spoke of the circumstances surrounding this recent homicide.

“On Sunday December 1th 2016 at about 7:30pm based on information received of a shooting incident on Orange Street in Santa Elena Town San Ignacio police visited the La Loma Luz Hospital located in Santa Elena town where the lifeless body of an elderly female was seen. The body had multiple gunshot wounds to the upper part of the body. The deceased was later identified to be Paulina Suarez of a Santa Elena Town address. Initial investigations revealed that the deceased was at home at around 7:30pm when a lone gunman of Hispanic descent who is believed to be a minor entered her home and fired several shots at her. The scene was processed and statements are being recorded. The body was transported to the San Ignacio Town Hospital Morgue where it awaits a post mortem. Based on the evidential material available to us we believe that the motive is based on land dispute between relatives. We are looking for three persons of interest who can assist us in this investigation.”

“She received multiple gunshot wounds to the upper part of the body. All I can say at this moment is that she received multiple shots to the upper part of her body. Presently we have two persons detained for questioning.”
