Ombudsman Explains 2016 Report (Part 1)

Updated: March 17, 2017

Earlier this week we told you of the 45-page report for 2016 from the Office of the Ombudsman that was recently released.  While we did note that two hundred and seven complaints were registered to his office for 2016 there were some questions as to the breakdown of those reports and their status which Ombudsman, Lionel Arzu clarified for us today as he explained what it meant by the terms investigated versus resolved.

Ombudsman Arzu says his office is receptive to all complaints and they will be addressed even if it means that the complainant has to be referred to another agency.

As for the challenges faced in the process of investigation, Arzu explains what some of those are.

Arzu has been serving as the Ombudsman for the last four years.
