Tourism arrivals into the country continue on a small but steady increase reports the Belize Tourism Board in its first quarter report for 2017. BTB has recorded increases for overnight arrivals for the first three months amounting to an overall two point seven percent increase at the end of March 2017. The BTB usually records its highest tourism arrivals in March and in 2017, recorded the highest ever in a single month. This year, arrivals have reached to a record number of over forty four thousand four hundred tourist visitors, surpassing last year’s record number of over forty three thousand visitors. The numbers in the cruise passenger arrivals have also registered a positive trend with an overall increase of eight point seven percent for the first quarter of 2017. The BTB reports that this gives a positive outlook for Belize’s cruise tourism for the remainder of the year. BTB credits the positive numbers to “vigorous marketing and product development efforts”.
