Investigations have been launched into a fire that destroyed a house on Elston Kerr Street in Belize City. The fire began around three o’clock Tuesday morning. According to police, 46-year-old Marvin Lord reported that about 3:30 that morning, his granddaughter informed him that a second house in their yard was engulfed in flames, which they tried to extinguish. That house belonged to 52-year-old Dawn Faber. It was completely destroyed while Lord’s residence was partially burnt and sustained water damages. Faber told police that she has not been living in the house and was in the process of moving out. She had a few household items inside and added that there was no electrical connection inside. Both houses are not insured. Authorities have not found out the cause of the fire and police continue to investigate.
