Haylock Charged and Remanded for Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with Minor

Dennis Haylock, a resident of Lord’s Bank Village, was charged with unlawful sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl when he appeared today before the Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith. Haylock was remanded into custody until August 18. On April 20, the girl, accompanied by her mother and a social worker, went to the police station in Ladyville Village and reported that at about 8pm on April 15, while she and her cousin were walking on Lord’s Bank Road, a man, known to her as Dennis, began walking with them. She said that when they reached the radio station her cousin continued on her way home and she went with Dennis to his house. She said she spent the night at Dennis’ house and the following day he had sex with her. She said she spent another night at Dennis’ house and the next day her mother called the police and came for her. The girl was examined by a doctor who certified that she was carnally known.
