Indian National Dies in Road Incident in Placencia

A fatal traffic incident occurred on Friday night just before eleven o’clock in Placencia.  According to the police, the incident occurred between miles twenty and twenty one on the Placencia Road.  Upon arrival at the scene police saw a grey Toyota Forerunner on the side of the road with a red and black Honda Shaw motorcycle lodged underneath.  Near the entanglement was the body of 45-year-old, Shams Penthod Moose, an Indian National of Maya Beach.  He was seen with extensive injuries to the head and body and was taken to the Southern Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.  The police report says that Moose was heading out of Placencia when he swerved in front of the oncoming Forerunner causing the collision.  The Forerunner was being driven by 24-year-old, Shawn Vasquez of Seine Bight Village, Stann Creek District.  Vasquez was served with a notice of intended prosecution after a urine sample was taken from him.
