Men Went for Valuables Not Ice Cream

The home of a family in north side Belize City was invaded by two male persons on Friday night at around six thirty.  Police were alerted of the incident on Dunn Street where they found 35-year-old, Michael Acosta injured to the nose and mouth after two men went to their front door asking to buy ice-cream.  Upon opening the door, the men forced their way in and robbed the family of cash and jewelery amounting to over sixteen thousand dollars.  At home with Acosta was his spouse, 26-year-old, Britney Gomez and their two year old child.  Acosta was held up with a firearm, kicked and injured in the face.  The culprits escaped on a motorcycle.  Investigations are ongoing.
