Still No Arrest in Home Invasion

Police continue to seek three persons as they continue to investigate the aggravated burglary of the home belonging to American couple Michael and his wife Janet McGhee in Ranchito Village, Corozal District. The incident happened on Monday, October 30 between one and two o’clock in the morning. The couple woke up to find two masked men in their bedroom. The men made off with an assortment of personal and household items valued at over sixteen thousand dollars and the couple’s 2003 Dodge pickup valued at over twenty-nine thousand dollars. Today police updated the media on their investigation and say that this may very well be the result of crime spilling outside Belize City.

“We are looking for three persons, two from Belize City and one from Hattieville, one of them was detained this morning and we are making arrangement for him to be transported to Corozal for him to  be transported to Corozal for him to be interviewed in regards to that aggravated burglary.”

“So then it appears that the operators in that crime originated in the Belize District.”

“Yes in conjunction with somebody from Corozal who was likewise detained this morning.”

“Is this something you all are looking at, we always speak about the displacement of crime whenever these operations clamp down in a certain area those criminal elements seeking opportunities may go into other jurisdictions?”

“Yes, that is the trend that we have been noticing in Corozal for the past incident that occurred. We had gotten information that it is somebody from Corozal working with people from Belize City that are taking to Corozal to commit these incidents.”
