The search continues for 82-year-old Hubert Richards also known as Fidel, a resident of Sandhill, Belize District.  Richards normally travels by bus to get home; however, on Wednesday, November 15, he never made it home.  Love News spoke with his daughter, Anna Richards.

“That’s when my brother called me and told me that my dad didn’t come home. He called me and asked me if my dad was here so I told him no. I asked him why and he said because Papa didn’t come home yet. So I asked him why he didn’t call me earlier and tell me that because he knows that whenever my dad comes down between 1 PM and 2 PM he is up in Sandhill Village and he saw the time p pass and didn’t come home called me at around 9 PM and asked me if my dad was here. We didn’t do anything until Saturday we went up to Sand Hill and we got together and spoke about what we would do and we went Orange Walk, we put up pictures of him in Orange Walk at the terminal and one of the men that worked on the bus said that he did see him in the terminal but he did not get in his bus he just walked out through the terminal.”

“Now he saw him in the terminal, which terminal?”

Anna Richards

“By the Queen Square Market that is the terminal he usually used to catch the bus.”

At a police press brief this morning, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvette, said that they are doing all they can in the hopes of finding Richards alive.

“The investigators are out there and they are at some point coordinating with the family and following leads as well as to where this person may have been. I believe that there was some surveillance video showing him in the Ladyville area on Friday.”

Richards is of dark complexion, slim built and has a low haircut.  He was last seen wearing a white long sleeve shirt, black pants and a pair of black tennis.  If anyone knows the whereabouts of Richards please contact the nearest police station or call 203-4784 or 623-4776.
