Was Davis Murdered over Land Dispute?

On Friday, we told you about  53-year-old Clinton Arthur Davis, a husband and father of four, whose body was found on his property where he lived with his family at five and a half miles on the George Price Highway. This morning, the police department held a press briefing where they told the media that they are treating it as a homicide and have detained several persons in connection with Davis’ death.

“What happened Mr. Davis he left his house on Tuesday and nobody had seen him until his body was found on Friday. It was almost three days that he had left his house and nobody knew his where about and nobody reported of him missing or anything like that he was even until he was found on that date. So far as I mentioned three persons have been detained. One was recently detained this morning and he is being questioned in regard to that alleged murder. He has some injuries to the head and to the chest area.”

Prior to finding the body, police were called out to the area on Tuesday night, someone had called the police claiming that a body was in the area. Police made checks but did not find anything until they discovered Davis’ decomposing body on Friday.

“Time of about 9 pm police received information that there was a body somewhere on the highway by Old Belize. CIB personnel and the other special unit went to the area. The metrics in the area, however, no one was found there at the time. We managed to call the person that gave us the information and we spoke to him and we search the area however we didn’t find anybody there on that date.”

The family believes that their loved one was murdered over a property dispute. Today, the police concurred that might indeed be the case.
