Robbers were back on the prowl last night as two armed men targeted Atlantic Restaurant in Belize City. ASP Alejandro Cowo, Head of the Crimes Investigation Branch in Belize City says it happened shortly before eight o’clock.
ASP Alejandro Cowo Head of CIB: “Police visited Atlantic Restaurant which is located at the corner of Henderson Street and the Philip Goldson Highway where the proprietor reported that whilst they were inside of the business establishment along with other persons who were purchasing food two male persons entered the business establishment and held them at gunpoint. One of them pointed a gun at the proprietor where he then handed over a small amount of cash. The person’s thereafter came out running and made their escape through the Philip Goldson Highway. Nothing else was stolen from the persons that were inside of the business.”
Dalila Ical: “How much was stolen?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo Head of CIB: “It is about three to four hundred dollars in cash. They have been checking the area and there are some cameras that we are viewing at this moment that can assist us in this investigation.”
Reporter: “Is it then believed that this particular robbery that happened at gunpoint and the two individuals may be connected to the Puma Gas Station robbery.”
ASP Alejandro Cowo Head of CIB: “I don’t think so, we have footage and the description of the persons on both incidents and they are two different descriptions.”
No one was hurt in the incident. ASP Cowo says the men were not wearing masks during the robbery.////
