In the past few months 2 Armenia Village residents have been killed. There could have been another one to report today, but the victim of a shooting incident earlier in the week, is recovering. Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett says Edin Garcia Perez of Armenia Village was shot when he exited his home minutes before midnight on Tuesday but nothing was stolen from his residence.

Joseph Myvett – Head National Crimes Investigation Branch: “Belmopan police responded to a shooting incident but first visiting the Western Regional Hospital where they met one Edin Garcia Perez twenty years of Armenia Village with gunshot injuries. Perez reported to police that sometime around 9 pm whilst he was inside his home he was called out of his home where he got his flashlight and opened his door. Upon entering his veranda he observed four male persons whom he recognized, one of whom fired several shots towards his direction causing his injuries. So far police are seeking four persons in relation to this investigation. We are following several leads and we are also looking at several motives based on the information that we have been given which at this point in time I am not in a position to disclose those motives until a proper motive has been established.”
