Watch: Attempted Hit caught on Camera

There are always reports of shooting incidents that don’t make it into the police weekly blotter because the shooter missed or shots were merely fired. On Friday, two cameras caught an incident in the vicinity of Santa Barbara and Mahogany Streets in Belize City. Love News examined both videos for clues what could have been a homicide.

Jose Sanchez: “Inside the store people are ordering, from the camera inside you can see a man standing at the door wearing a black cap, striped shirt and wearing a skinny jeans above the knees and wearing slippers. He fumbles in his pants, he barely looks inside at the counter where a tall man in a red Nike shirt collects his chicken. The man then holds onto his right pants pocket, pulls out the gun but turns to avoid eyes of customers, when his target in red shirt exists and begins to walk away he takes three steps back points and aims carefully but the gun snaps and the victim lives another day. Not satisfied he points the gun towards the patrons inside the business and attempts to fire at the people inside but the gun snaps again and he runs away. About 5 to 6 persons jump up to see what happened outside not knowing that any of them could have been registered as a mistake identity casualty known to the Police on Mondays news.   The police was able to interview and make an arrest due to the evidence shared on Facebook.”

ASP Alejandro Cowo: “Police managed to get one of the persons that was inside of the restaurant. They interviewed the person and also they spoke to the guy who had left the restaurant to whom the gun was pointed but he informed the Police that he had no knowledge that had happened and that he was aware of that until he saw it on Facebook.
