Belize Electricity Limited has sent a second team of linemen to the British Virgin Islands to assist with the ongoing restoration works. In September, weeks after the group of islands was devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, the first team of five linemen was deployed. They were stationed in Virgin Gorda for six weeks and returned home yesterday. The second team of linemen that left on Monday comprised of Wayne Lewis, Gregory Kerr, Manuel Lopez, Paul McCalla and George Neal. They will be stationed in the British Virgin Islands for the next four weeks. Since the storms, about twenty-five percent of the British Virgin Islands power system has been restored. BEL expressed gratitude to the linemen for their willingness and sacrifice to fulfill the Company’s commitment to our fellow Caribbean utility and nation.
