Belize City family survives home invasion

1 min read

A family in Belize City is recuperating after they were attacked in their own house this afternoon. It happened at around twelve thirty at a residence in the Lake Independence Area.  Two unmasked men gained entry to the house by climbing to the verandah on the second floor before holding up a 77-year-old man and another person in the house. The owner of the house managed to escape by running into her room and locking herself in. One of the intruders attempted to forcibly open her door but she had already dialed 911. According to the woman, the police responded quickly.

The intruders got away with some cash and a cell phone.
