Belize City Resident Perishes in Fatal RTA

2 min read

The police department is encouraging motorists to be careful as accidents are still occurring before the close of the year.  A Belize City resident passed away during a tragic accident that occurred early Sunday morning. Cliff Russel Usher, an employee of Citrus Products of Belize Limited crashed along the highway in Dangriga. ASP Alejandro Cowo says the police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.

ASP Alejandro Cowo: “Just after 2 in the morning Dangriga Police visited and area known as the Canantic junction which is located between 18 and 19 miles on the Southern Highway where upon arrival they observed a vehicle on the road side extensively damaged and also a distance away they found the motionless body of a male person who was identified as Cliff Russell Usher a 47 year old Belizean of Coral St. What Police gathered so far is that Mr. Usher whilst on the Placencia South Highway going towards Dangriga overturned several times and as a result he was thrown out of the vehicle and died instantly on the spot. Upon inspection of the vehicle it was extensively damaged so I cannot tell you if there was a blow out, or any malfunction of the vehicle or if he lost control of the vehicle but it is still under investigation.”
