Belizean Cyclists at 2018 Commonwealth Games

1 min read

Since last week we have been reporting about Belize’s participation in the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia. So far the athletes’ performance has been less than stellar but there is still faith in other Belizean athletes who have yet to compete. These athletes include cyclists Nissan Arana and Oscar Quiroz who yesterday participated in the individual time trials. Giovanni Alamilla who heads the delegation spoke to Arana and Quiroz who are scheduled to compete this Saturday.

Samantha Dirks who was scheduled to race in the 400-meter dash on Sunday was, unfortunately, unable to do so due to a leg injury. According to the head of the delegation, Giovanni Alamilla, Dirks tore her quad muscle while training.
