Belizean professional, Dr. Carolyn S. Gentle-Genitty was recognized during Women’s Month by Indiana University where she currently holds the position of Assistant Vice President for University Academic Affairs. Dr. Gentle-Genitty was one of eighteen women honored by the university’s Office for Women and the Division of Student Affairs during its 21st Annual Women’s History Month Leadership Awards ceremony. She received the Inspirational Woman award. Dr. Gentle-Genitty joined the IU Academic Affairs team in 2017. She is described as being a versatile faculty with outstanding knowledge and skills, having won local and national awards for engagement with students and academic advising. While in Belize, Dr. Gentle Genitty served as the executive director of the local YMCA, aided in running an alternative boys school, sat on numerous boards and task forces.
