Two officers who were on foot patrol in the Hattieville area this morning were surprised this morning with a donation from the private sector.  The media tagged along for the surprise and spoke with Woman Constable Pietra Avila who was one of those on duty this morning.

Dylana Leslie, who was recently selected as the Vice Chair for the People’s Coatlition Committee for the Rural Eastern Division is one of the donors along with Quan’s Trading Centre.

Senior Superintendent Edward Broaster has been making strides in involving the community in the rural Belize District and has developed innovative ideas in the area aimed at motivating the officers in both Ladyville and Hattieville.  Today’s donation is one of those ideas aimed at not only improving the safety of residents but building the officers’ morale.

According to Leslie there are other surprises in the pipeline.
