The Belize National Teacher’s Union is currently following the progress of the situation of teachers at Bishop Martin High School. The BNTU was alerted of the issues faced by teachers at the institution when they staged a strike. Teachers, at least seven of them, have not had their employment records updated since they began teaching at the institution. The strike began with the seven teachers, but they were eventually joined by the entire teaching staff at the high school. Teachers said it came to that after trying for over a year to settle their issues with the school administration. BNTU President Elena Smith says they have supported their members.
