Investigators are looking into an incident that took the life of a farm owner in western Belize.  On April 12 just before ten o’clock, police received reports of a shooting on a farm located off the Pine Ridge Road in Georgeville Village, Cayo District, leaving 53-year-old, Earl Tillett dead.  Further probing into the case revealed that 25-year-old, Aaron Vasquez and Tillett had gone to Tillett’s farm around seven thirty that morning.  Tillett reportedly had his point twenty two rifle with him and had loaded it with one bullet after having his breakfast.  Vasquez says he saw Tillett walk a distance away and took out his machete to start chopping in the area.  At that point, a gunshot was heard and upon closer inspection Vasquez says he found Tillett bleeding from the side of the neck and laying on the ground on top of his rifle.  Tillett was taken to the San Ignacio Hospital then transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
