Earlier this year, Belize took over the Pro-Tem Presidency of SICA, the Central American Integrated System as such several SICA meetings have been conducted in Belize. Yesterday, was another such meeting where the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of SICA met at the Best Western Plus Biltmore Plaza. (VO STARTS) During the meeting, Foreign Ministers were able to review and approve reports on the internal administration and on matters relating to the budget as well as an update on the advancement of the work of the General Secretariat thus far. At the meeting, the ministers also discussed the worldwide climate change talks of the COP 24. As it relates to migration, the Foreign Ministers looked at the cause and effects of migration within the region from the International Organization of Migration and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees. The Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of SICA is responsible for the process of democratization, pacification, regional security and other political issues, as well as the coordination and follow-up of political, economic, social, fiscal and cultural decisions and measures that may have international implications.
