Cruise ship responds to distress call

59 second read

Norwegian Getaway, a cruise ship of the Norwegian Cruise Line, diverted course last week Tuesday evening to rescue two men aboard a distressed sailboat off the coast of Belize. Online reports say the ship responded to a distress signal from the 42-foot boat which was taking in water. It took the cruise ship about an hour to rescue the men who were about 24 nautical miles away. A tender was dispatched and seven crew members were able to help the two men, bringing them safely on board the cruise ship.
