CWU and SSB at odds over salary increase

1 min read

Members of the Christian Workers Union are upset following a letter sent by the Social Security Board. The letter is dated December 22, 2017, and it is in reference to ‘calculation of the salary increase’ as contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Social Security Board and the Christian Workers Union. In the letter, the SSB states that it has considered the calculation of the salary increase to be paid at 1.75% effective the 1st of January from 2015 to 2019. The SSB asserts that the calculation used originally is the agreed methodology to use. However, the SSB says it has taken the decision to pay the difference between the total paid and the total payable as favored by the CWU. The SSB states that this action in no way sets a precedent for future payments.
