Dispute in Orange Walk Turns Fatal

A fight in a village in the Orange Walk District turned deadly over the weekend. Police say that Trial Farm resident, Manuel Toloza got into a fight with five men and as a result suffered stab wounds which led to his demise.  Officer in Charge, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Selvin Tillett shared the details.


“On Saturday 29th October 2016 at 9:50pm Orange Walk police visited the Northern Regional Hospital where one Manuel Alejandro Toloza a 25 year old Belizean laborer of Pitt’s Lagoon Street Orange Walk was seen with a stab wound to his chest and the back of his neck. Initial investigations revealed that sometime around 9:30pm on the same date Toloza got into an altercation with a person in front of Chan’s Store in Trial Farm. The fight ended and both persons went their separate ways. Toloza upon reaching an open space next to a tire shops in Trial Farm was apparently attacked by a group of five male persons who inflicted said injuries. He was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries hours later.”

Police are still investigating what could have caused the dispute. They have not detained anyone in connection to Toloza’s murder.
