But before the ICJ referendum is held, the Government will undergo a re-registration exercise which is slated to commence on July 2. Eight million dollars have been set aside for this exercise which aims to purge the voters list. The Election and Boundaries Commission has met with both major political parties to discuss the operational aspect of the re-registration and the terms of how this exercise will proceed with additional human resources. Barrow expects that a first draft of the new voters list will be produced in October of this year.
More than three hundred temporary employees are expected to be hired for the re-registration exercise which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
