Election & Boundaries prep for elections

Municipal elections have been set for Wednesday, March 7. The two major political parties will contest all seats across the country. The Belize Progressive Party is expected to field a full slate of candidates in Punta Gorda and some candidates in Belize City. Registering Officer at the Election and Boundaries Department, Brendalyn Staine said they have done their groundwork ahead of the upcoming elections.

“Presently at all our registration offices, we are getting ready for public officers to check the binders because you know they have to check the binders because you know they have to check the binders with our divisional registers as for their breakdowns. After nominations we will be going into printing of ballot papers after that we go on the media, all the different media houses to participate in the electoral process and all the new features of what’s to do and what not to do we are gearing up to but at our office especially my office our supplies will take lamps, the sticks, the boots extra we are doing preparations at our offices right now as we speak.”
